My 2016 Slap in the Face!

2016 you have been a wild ride.

I bought my first house, renovated my kitchen and bathroom and started my first overseas production project in Nepal. I did my first fashion show in Seattle at Eco Fashion Week and I got myself featured in Huffington Post, Salt Magazine, Profile Magazine, Sustainability in Style and The Weekend (and that doesn't even include international media!). I was a guest speaker at Unleash Ecoprenuer and Duodecim Fashion Show. I was nominated for Young Entrepreneur and Ethical Designer of the Year award at Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival. Best of all I planted 15,000 trees!!!!!

2017 has some big things happening and I can't wait to see some very exciting things come to life. However I can't believe I wound up the year thinking I haven't done enough. 2016 felt like I was chasing a rainbow without realising I was inside the rainbow!!!! Such is the life of an entrepreneur I guess, but there is an important lesson I have learnt.

Plant ideas, see what opportunities germinate, nurture them and watch them strengthen, harvest the hard work but most of all ENJOY THE GROWING PROCESS! Take it from me, someone who has spent most of 2016 thinking I was never doing enough, that life IS what happens when you are busy making other plans.

2017 will be more about looking after myself; cleansing my relationships, my home and my lifestyle. It will be about harvesting the hard work and reinvesting into some extremely fab ventures and product development. I am looking forward to it but for now I am here, sitting on the verandah of my family home in the middle of a farm and in this moment is where I am and where I will stay.

Enjoy this moment, enjoy every moment.

Katie xx
